This book isn't what I expected. It is a collection of several very specific troublesome problems that the author has noticed in her students' classroom work. For each problem, she explains the correction. These explanations are helpful, but the book is short and they don't really perfect my German as claimed.Product details

I highly recommend this book to mid-level German learners like me. I took a few German classes in college, studied there briefly, and travel there for business about once a year, so I can manage elementary conversations but I'm definitely not fluent. This book identified multiple issues that I have struggled with, and succinctly addressed them. In several cases I THOUGHT I was saying something correctly but now know better! In fact, I found every chapter of the book worth reading, and I underlined many key points that I will review again before my next trip there. This book is exactly right for mid-level learners -- if you are already fluent, you probably don't need it. And if you're just a complete beginner, there are other books you should read/study first. But if you are marginally fluent and enjoy speaking the language, this book is for you, because doubtless you'll learn about some grammatical or vocabulary issue that you didn't previously understand.
Great "Insider's tips and tricks guide" to the German Language. Very well structured book with useful , practical and "to the point" explanations followed by very good examples and exercises. This is an Excellent complementary guide for students of the German language.
